Physiotherapy Testimonial

One year ago, our 3 and half-year-old Lab had an unknown trauma to the top of her back. She was unable to use her back legs and became temporarily paralysed. After the x-ray and MRI’s were seen by many specialists, they gave us no answer to what had happened and if she would ever walk again. We held out hope and started the long road to recovery. For the first month, Izzy was assisted in doing everything (including going to the toilet). She then began to make progress with her back legs. Rehab consisted of weekly physio treatment (acupuncture, laser, and a range of exercises) which turned into fortnightly and then monthly visits. Gail has been our physio from the very start and we can’t thank her enough. She has a wealth of knowledge and Izzy always bounds in to see Gail. Her rehab has also involved daily exercises at home, daily medication, hydrotherapy sessions (Val), a harness to help her walk (we held up the back legs),  poles to help her walk and the list goes on. 10 months down the track and we had another big step back. Izzy had to go back onto a range of medication and had re-hurt her back. Our physio (Gail) advised us to import a WiggleLess brace, and we are very grateful for being told about this fantastic brace. Izzy wears this on each walk, when doing exercises at home and when she gets excited with visitors coming over (she is still very puppy-like). We highly recommend the WiggleLess back brace and think it’s been an extremely important addition to Izzy’s recovery. One year later, Izzy is making progress and beginning to trot again.

We want to say a big thank you to Gail and the team.
