COVID-19 Update Level 3

As we embark on level three for North Canterbury Vets this means very little change from Level 4.

North Canterbury Vets will continue to manage all companion animal emergencies and health issues from our Culverden and Amberley clinics. These clinics will be staffed every day from 8.30 to 5.30 by a small team of staff. This will ensure our companion animal bubbles remain intact and we continue to follow government directives to help keep everyone safe.

Please do not arrive at clinics without contacting us first. We can and will work to best look after your animal health issues but we need to assess every case prior to your arrival at the clinic.

If you need animal health advice or have an emergency with one of your pets or working dogs’ please contact one of our clinics for how to proceed. A nurse or vet will discuss the problem with you and advise whether to bring the animal to the clinic or whether a phone consult may be adequate. We ask you to please be patient when you ring, there may be a delay in us answering the phone.

Whilst the way we provide the contact-less service is a big change, it is necessary in keeping you, your pets and ourselves safe. Since the beginning of Alert Level 4 we have been operating in this bubble, so we are aware of its limitations, but we also know that it works! We assure you, your pet even without you by its side, will still receive the loving care it deserves from our team.

Our Tele-consult (video consult) system is working really well and enables us to get a clear picture of the next steps we need to take with your pet.

We are able to supply our usual pet and working dog foods, flea, worm products as well as other products by arrangement.

All large animal vets will continue to work from home, please do not hesitate to call your nearest clinic to arrange these appointments. Farm deliveries will also continue. Di, Nicola and Hamish are available by phone and will facilitate all that you require.

Thank you for your understanding and assistance in these extenuating times. When we move to Alert Level 2 we will update you on our change in processes.
