Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Surgery for Cruciate Ligament Disease

TTA assists with a ruptured cruciate ligament by balancing the pull of the quadriceps (thigh muscles) with the calf muscles so the tibia is not sliding forward relative to the femur and the stifle is more stable on weight bearing.

This procedure is moderately less technical than the TPLO and has fewer implants and thus can be a cost-effective way of managing cruciate disease in the larger patient.

We offer both procedures as the research supports TPLO being the best option for most dogs, however we have been more than satisfied with the results of the TTA surgeries we have completed.
